Looks like Richard Linklater has accomplished making another wonderful, yet, underrated movie in his "spiritual sequel" to Dazed and Confused.
From the sound of it, almost every Dazed and Confused fan will enjoy this one. I've been looking forward to this film for awhile

Trailer #1
(I have to admit, the trailer worried me a lot. Thought it looked cheesy. However, with the praise EWS!! is getting, I cannot wait to go see it )

Critics Consensus: Nostalgic in the best sense, Everybody Wants Some!! finds Richard Linklater ambling through the past with a talented cast, a sweetly meandering story, and a killer classic rock soundtrack.

Saw it at SXSW this year and liked it a lot. But..
If you go into it thinking that you may not like it. It doesn't have the pot humor or the variety of characters that Dazed did.
It's a fun movie that I do want to see again, I just know after the screening a lot of the negative comments I heard were about how it felt like it wanted to be Dazed and missed. I didn't feel like it was trying to be the same movie, it's telling a different story about a different type of kid.

I was in Austin when they premiered it. Didn't hear about until after I left. I've liked pretty much anything Linklater has put out. From Before Sunrise, Dazed and Confused, Boyhood, Bernie, and Slacker, I enjoy his style of directing and storytelling.
Hope I dig this one as well. Obviously, if I go into it with too high of expectations it will inevitably not be the movie I want it to be. Still.. It looks good

Linklater is probably my favorite working director. It's obviously subjective, but you could argue he's the best working director. Here's a list of his movies (Directing and screenwriting credits unless otherwise noted. A lot of the screenwriting credits are his screenplays) with RT score:

I think his best movies, at their core, are able to accurately display human emotion in a sense that the viewer can actually relate to.
The Before Trilogy showed what it actually feels like to love someone
Dazed and Confused tapped into the mind of a teenager in high school (I don't care it was set in the 70s)
Boyhood dealt with the emotional highs and lows (both for Mason and his mom and dad) of growing up.
His movies have this unattainable charm to them that you really can't find in another director's filmography. I think a lot of that has to do with the fact he makes movies based on real life, not based on some glitzy Hollywood screenplay

Finally got to see it. What a fantastic film. Linklater crafts the most interesting characters in a matter of minutes.
