I am DC guy.
This movie is a classic. Similar to Batman Begins IMO as a definitive origin movie.
Also similar in that they nail the front half of the movie and then the 2nd half is somewhat shaky.
I don't love the campy stuff and the fly around the world ending.
Bonus is that Kidder is still attractive in this movie.

Superman Returns could've been a launching point for the DC cinematic universe and it still takes place in the same world as Christopher Reeve's movies.
If you take the kid out of Superman Returns and replace the bad guy with something like Parasite, Metallo or Brainiac, it would've been an excellent movie with more heart, joy, color and soul than Slimy Hack Snyder's last two movies combined.

I love it. I wish they could still do it.
He flies around the world and has that reassuring look and smile on his face and you can tell that he knows he succeeded in saving the world and he's perfectly content with that knowledge.
