No way it will live up to the original, the original came out of no where and has been quoted for 20 years.

Can't expect it to just pick up where it left off, but I hope it delivers what it can. Will still probably be better than most comedies of today. Even if it's just nostalgia alone.

I think this is a load of crap. There's a lot of great comedies these days. You can't sit there and tell me that this movie will still be better than most of those comedies just by existing. If it sucks it sucks, it won't be better than "most of the comedies today"

You haven't even seen it, yet have declared it awful. That's pessimism.

I can tell you whatever I want to tell you.

You don't have to like it. But movies like the jerk, blazing saddles, planes trains and aautomobiles..I could go on..

Are way better than the shite of today.

That's not what I am arguing.

I'm saying you can't drag out Jim Carey and co with a bad script and a half assed effort and tell me with a straight face that it's better than most of the comedies out today just because it has the Dumb and Dumber name on it.

To be fair, you just listed a bunch of classics. Classics aren't made often.

That is not most of the comedies today. The fact that your throwing out Jason Biggs and Jon Heder, which haven't been relevant in a decade, tells me you're being quite dishonest for this argument.

Being better than Melissa McCarthy does not make you better than most comedies today.

Name some of the ones you'd rank high on the list? And if it's made by the creators of family guy just..don't bother.

21 and 22 jump street and the Apatow films for starters.

Do you honestly believe that Dumb and Dumber to will be remembered in 20 years with a bad script and half assed performances?

No, but like I said, it will probably be better than most of the shite nowadays.

But it won't be though.

Yeah it might be better than the D squad money grab comedies that Melissa McCarthy makes, but that's um, not impressive and not a fair representation of "today's comedies"

I do find it funny that you have this old school elitist attitude about these older classic comedy films, but the bar you have set for this one is "it's better than Tammy"

I have the bar set on the quality of comedy films of the past ten years, which is low.

The "old school" films are still funny. just is how it is.
