Doctor Who - Season Long Rant

Season 8 Episode 1

Right off the bat we learn improved writing won't be happening this season.



There isn't even an illogical reason for the T-Rex to time travel because it swallowed the Tardis.

Not to mention that a T-Rex wasn't that big. Not even close to that big. Hell triple the size of a T-Rex and the who version could still swallow it whole. Big Ben is 316 feet tall. Maybe some industrial waste spilled on the T-Rex through a temporal inversion caused it to become Godzilla.



The stupid coppper actually thinks the Tardis is an egg even though it has writing on it? The snappy comeback line from Lizard Lady Sherlock doesn't negate how stupid the copper would have to be to think that was an egg.

Pretty nice of the T-Rex to just sit there doing nothing. No rampage. Didn't eat anyone.



Clara looks hot with messed up hair.


Can we agree the new theme sucks? I've always liked the theme and never disliked the changes but that honest to god sounds like a group of banshees humming the theme.



So now the Sontaran is an idiot too. He thinks clothes are coats and hair is a hat. They have taken a cool enemy and converted him into a punchline.

So are we to believe that little blowtorch caused the Godzilla sized T-Rex to be incinerated. Also, given that the showed the T-Rex go from being fine to total ash, when did they take the time to get the optic nerve that they burned into uselessness?

Creepy aliens. They remind me of the Vidiian.



Dear lord! Make it stop. The whole rescue from Robot land was horrible. They were able to kill humans and replace parts for millions of years but they can't stop a lesbian lizard with her court jester.

Ok. I just googled lesbian lizard and there is actual artwork I could post here if I didn't mind the ban. Oh the humanity! You guys are whining about Big Brother on the tv while out there, several people have created artwork for lesbian lizard.

Kudos to the BBC. Historical day! They first lesbian lizard kiss. What a great day for England therefore the world.

Hold your breath! That is almost of the same level of stupidity as House Party.

I guess I should be somewhat happy that the ending didn't revolve around the magic stick but this is even worse.

Positives - Clara looks good. Screwdriver wasn't a deus ex machina device. Somewhat creepy villains.

Negatives - Robots sure gave up fast after surviving for millions of years. Sontaran Jester. Bad fight choreography.

Unknowns - Capaldi. Hard to know what his true personality will be like in the first few episodes after regeneration. Davison was manic for a bit and Colin Baker. They both settled down.
