Do you prefer full season binge release or weekly?

I spent every spare moment this weekend binging on Daredevil S2. So far I am 7 eps into it, and I am itching to get home to watch another 2 tonight. This binging has me thinking how much I miss the weekly wait-and-see format.

On the one hand I love being able to watch all the eps at my pace. On the other hand I dislike that once I am finished I will have to wait 51 weeks to get my next fix. I feel this way with other binge shows as well.

To me the fun in television shows is the anticipation of next week's episode. Game of Thrones is a prime example of this. It gives us a week to discuss what just happened and guess at what's to come, plus it allows us to get together for viewing parties and such. Sure I could do this with a binge release; however, I can't force myself to wait that long. I require the networks to force this upon me!

What are your thoughts on this? Do you prefer one over the other? Would you rather Netflix and such release them one episode per week?

I wouldn't mind if it was a little more controlled. Binge watching is tough because shows make it so hard to just wait on the next episode.

However, I agree with you about the time to digest and discuss. I just hate following along with the schedule of the networks. It's pretty common for me to get a couple of episodes behind anyway, so I need the ability to catch up.

I did 5 episodes of Daredevil this weekend, and I'll probably hit one a night for the rest of the week.

I prefer to wait until the show has come and gone. Then I binge watch all of it in a few sittings from premiere to finale.

I prefer the Netflix method of releasing everything at one time. Gives me the opportunity to watch more shows whenever I want. With the weekly format, I feel like I need to watch the previous week's episode before the next one comes out.

Weekly.

Full season binges tend to vanish from my memory. Weekly shows seem to hang on longer for me.

Not being able to discuss with friends is terrible, and this is what's happening with DD2 currently. We have a group text going, and all it is comprised of is:

"What ep are you on?"
"2"
"shite, I'm on 5. It keeps getting better!"

And that's the end of any discussion. I am very similar to you though. We usually fall behind about 3 eps or so and watch them at our leisure. We do this with the kids in watching The Flash and Arrow.

The wife and I do this with Homeland, and that's mainly due to it being a show that requires full attention and memory recall. We don't know anyone else who watches it, so we binge over a weekend after it has run its course without worrying about spoilers while we wait for the season to record and end

I watch a season in a week, two or three episodes a night. I don't understand how some of you can watch 10 hours of one show in a day.
