It was in the trailer, but it was unclear who was with who? Still might not be as clear, but it does kinda provide what the movie will be like.

The movie itself probably isn't based on any real world tensions, but completely fabricated fantasy. Which, in my opinion, is better because neither side will be disappointed if either were to "lose" based on a left/right perspective.

if you were making a movie based on a present-day civil-war, what would your fiction be?

Oklahoma is going to follow Texas. That’s just what Oklahoma does.

Of course Hollywood would think California could be it’s own republic. Poverty state.

That movie is going to be very intensely discussed when it comes out in here

I’m pretty solidly conservative but CA would have a top 10 economy by itself.

If Italy or Poland can be independent I promise you CA would make it.

Same with Texas and FL.

Louisiana would probably join Texas just for the oil and gas production implications alone. Non-stop drilling and production without the federal government to answer to. We could become the North American UAE.

If the world ever goes to shite/civil war, California won’t be the California as we know it at all.

The big cities will literally destroy themselves, then when the liberal leaders try to tell everyone that’s left what to do, the rural and conservative types will tell them to go frick themselves.

They’ll have an internal shite show/civil war they have to settle before they ever play a role in a nation-wide one.

California would be just fine, whatever you think of it. Don’t believe the hype. There’s plenty of money there.

Not without the US government. The state of California is completely bankrupt. The COVID government funding scam merely slowed the bleeding.

They have plenty of money but a lot of the state depends on water relocation from the Rockies.

That economy comes to a grinding halt when the spigot is cut off and resevoirs run dry. That might be the plot of the new A24 movie.
