Denzel Washington and Keanu Reeves were supposed to be on White Men Can't Jump

That would have been terrible after seeing the great chemistry between Woody Harrelson and Wesley Snipes together.

Denzel doesn't work for that character....he's not hustling cash just to eat at Sizzler.

Would have been bad. Wesley snipes and woody harrelson in the matrix, on the other hand, would have been legendary.

Woody was great for that part. I think him playing as much as he did back then helped him a lot with making something so good look bad (bacically being such a smart arse during games).. The Cheers cast & crew had a goal outside their Paramount studio and played during breaks. It was pointed out during a tour of the studio I did.

It’s hard to unseen what you’ve seen, and snipes and woody were great.
But I think Denzel could have worked just fine. I’m not sure Keanu could have portrayed the same killer in geek clothes that woody pulled off.
I do wish snipes hadn’t forgotten about taxes. He was really great on camera.

Snipes is awesome in all those movies. He had some real heart under the surface in his dripping with arrogance characters.
But I think Denzel could have worked just fine. I’m not sure Keanu could have portrayed the same killer in geek clothes that woody pulled off.

Denzell could have pulled it off.
Keanu would have been different (more surfer guy than aw shucks guy), but I'm not sure if he could play basketball. Woody clearly being a good basketball player made the movie. Although, Snipes couldn't play basketball and with movie magic they made it work, so they may have been able to pull it off with Keanu.
I do agree that Rosie Perez would not have worked with Keanu, though.
