Just started Deadwood (no spoilers please) and I'm hooked after two episodes.

Knowing that it's going to end abruptly bothers me. Should I expect to be pissed off, or is there at least a little bit of closure?

It was a minor tragedy for the show to end without a planned closing season but the time you spend watching will be well worth the investment. Al Swearengen especially is one of my favorite characters from any genre.

Don't listen to the haters.

Season 3 ended the only way it could end based on history.

Only bad thing about season 3 is not nearly enough Doc Cochran and way too fracking much Theatre troupe.

The abrupt ending had nothing to do with season 3. Just the fact there wouldn't be a season 4.

The main arc couldn't be dragged any further so it ended perfectly albeit painfully.

That and the dialogue got a bit too Shakespearian for my tastes.

Still, anyone that is disappointed by Deadwood sucks cock by choice.

No. It's a great show. The abrupt ending is fine.

Terrific show, certainly worth the time. The ending left the story seeming incomplete, but as others stated, they had to follow history for the most part. Maybe they'll get around to making that movie they've been talking about lately to give it a more desired farewell.

Deadwood is one of the greats so go through it by all means.

That said, I thought the writers were on drugs for season 3.

The whiskey flows and thy prick is hard every time I watch this show. Don't think about the ending.

This.

After the 1st 2 episodes, I was completely hooked. I very gradually became less and less interested. The wife and I have maybe 4 episodes left in season 3 and haven't watched in 3 months, may never get back to it. Safe to say it didn't really hold up for us.

Just binged the first two seasons. Fantastic authentic series, strong as hell cast. Looking forward to series finale.

I loved the fight Dan had with the Captain. Probably one of the best on screen fight scenes ever.
