I think everyone is going to side with Reynolds in this argument. Chandler is a good actor but nowhere close to that role, and I want the sequel to stay true to the original

while the actor placed his focus more on the raunchy comedy style that earned the first movie its R rating

A little goes a long way though. Deadpool had a good bit of flashbacks that were more serious to balance the constant comedy. Hopefully Reynolds understands that. Cable can't just fill the Collosus "straight man" role. That won't be enough.

Yeah, I love Kyle Chandler, but Cable should be kind of a giant meathead who has a talent for combat and tactics-- he's the overmuscled straight man to Deadpool-- think 80s Dolph Lundgren.

Jon Hamm has the comedic chops and looks for the role.

If this is true, I definitely side with Reynolds.

I'm late to the party as I have just read the news regarding all of this (via an article that Junkie XL is leaving the project in solidarity with Miller), but I have to agree that Reynolds is correct here. When I read about this a few minutes ago, a huge what the frick came out of my mouth. I do believe Miller is a major reason that the first DP was so great. I am concerned that the sequel can be as well, but it appears it definitely wouldn't have been with Miller still on board.

It certainly sounds like he was using this to further his own special effects company rather than to make a good movie (if this is true).
