I'm thinking the plot will involve an invasion, though it's only a guess.

That's reaching a bit. Could be anything, really.

It's also the name of a Major DC Comics event.

Ugggghh @ having to watch Supergirl for this arc just because I watch the other three.

As terrible as it was last year, I've actually watched this year and it's better - and the Superman is legitimately great, better than any since Reeves.

Yep. I remember reading a few issues of the actual event. It was decent if not great IIRC. The thing I remember liking the most was not the alien race the Dominators, who looked like lizards- but the introduction of the Khunds, kind of DC's version of the Klingons. They have made some appearances over the years and I found them to be enjoyable. Let's hope they make an appearance.

You're missing out.

It's been having a great run on CW with good leadership and it's by far more comic booky instead of the forced grandma and grandpa stuff they were doing on CBS. And even then with all that, it had a strong second half last season that saved it from cancellation and a worthy investment for CW.

You're going to be pleasantly surprised.

SG's ratings is second only to Flash and the premiere set an 8 year high for CW.

do I need to watch season 1 of SG? Or can I just skip to season 2. I think CW does a great job and will give it a chance there. But don't care to give Season one a shot honestly

You don't have to watch all of season 1, but here are the episodes you need to watch to get the right amount of backstory (those in bold are MUST WATCH):

Episode 1 (Pilot)

Episode 3 (Introduces Lucy Lane)

Episode 4 (Introduces Maxwell Lord)

Episode 5 (Introduces Livewire)

Episode 7 (Reveals that Hank Henshaw is really J'Onn J'Onzz in dramatic fashion and honestly saves the series)

Episode 9 (Supergirl finds out about J'Onn)

Episode 10 (Introduces Toyman, Wynn Schott's father)

Episode 11 (Provides great backstory into the Martian Manhunter by introducing the White Martians)

Episode 12 (Enter Bizarro)

Episode 13 (A nearly frame for frame copy of one of the best Superman stories AND one of the best Justice League episodes) - This is the best episode of the entire series so far

Episode 15 (Introduces Indigo, AKA Brainiac 8, played by Smallville's Supergirl, Laura Vandervoort)

Episode 16 (The Red Kryptonite episode)

Episode 17 (Sets up the Cadmus arc for season 2)

Episode 18 (While the Flash/Supergirl crossover is nice, it's not that relevant to the overall season arc until the last 5 minutes)

Episodes 19-20 (Sets up season 2 and you're going to want to watch just to see what Supergirl and Martian Manhunter do to Non and Indigo)

The rest of the episodes are throwaway. If you only watch the ones in bold, you're probably good.

The only spoiler I posted was that Hank Henshaw is really J'Onn J'Onzz, the Martian Manhunter.

I have no idea how they are going to do the Invasion! crossover. I just hope they have the Thanagarians.

I still think that "For the girl who has everything" is the best episode of the series so far.

I enjoyed Supergirl Season 1, though I did watch it in 3 days over a weekend to prep for Season 2.

"Citizen Steel" looks like an awesome, over-the-top, cornball superhero. He looks like he should be tossing a football around the superhero club-house.

I decided to give Supergirl a shot because of this thread, and they have to be joking having Perd as a news anchor doing exactly what he did in Parks and Rec.
