Yeah there's no way it will hold at 94% but this is very good news.

Im still trying to temper expectations, but it's hard with these reviews

It's apparently as formulaic as possible with good performances. I would imagine most of us will be able to figure out the entire plot without having actually seen it.
So like every single sports movie ever made?

It was the usual Rocky formula, but they kept the winks to the audience at a minimum and they had great performances from top to bottom. Sometimes a well made formula movie can still end up as a great film.

Rocky is now the same age as Burgess Meredith was in the first Rocky movie

When I watched Rocky as a yute, I never dreamed I'd live to see the day Stallone would do a remake in the Burgess Meredith role.

And I never would have bet that it would get over 20 percent positive reviews. Glad to hear it may be a good flick.

In my opinion, it was every but as good as they're saying it is.

Rocky II is my all-time favorite movie, along w/ Shawshank. The original Rocky is also a masterpiece.

Creed is the 3rd best, behind those two, in my opinion. Don't get me wrong, I love Rocky III and IV, even though they were by no means great films; I personally don't care for the other installments. Creed, on the other hand, is superb, and well-deserving of any hype or accolades it's receiving. The casting is excellent from top-to-bottom, and it has a stellar soundtrack.

Creed was just a fantastic movie. One of the best I have seen in awhile. Not really a boxing movie, just a great story. Stallone knocked it out of the park and should get some hardware for it. I might see it another time or two, while it's in the theater..

I don't really know if they can do a sequel to it, without getting silly. I hope they don't try..

Performances were strong. Maybe the best performance Stallone has ever given.

Camera work was great. During some of the fights you were just waiting for a cut, but the shot kept going.

Haven't even seen the movie, but if you fools think Michael B was taking on a bad project, then you're in for a rude awakening.

That guy has a preternatural instinct for picking good projects (minus probably the Fantastic Four fiasco) - he was a central character on two of the greatest television shows that have ever been made. He was not going to risk his reputation as one of the next uber-superstar on an iffy project. Both Michael B and his agents and advisers deserve a damn load of credit for keeping him on the path.

There will definitely be a sequel or three.
Creed is set up to be a decent franchise. Showing his run to the title will be a ride worth taking. If you think they will stop at 1 Creed you are crazy.

Saw it this weekend. Really good film. 8/10. I personally wish there was more buildup in his training. The dudes on motorcycles were ridiculous. Really solid performance by Stallone, very subdued and not over the top. Looking forward to this franchise.
