Starring Pete Holmes in a semi fictional version of his life. I'm really excited for this. I like Pete but I understand why some people wouldn't. Hoping this is good.

Been listening to Artie Lange's podcast for years. He's been talking about the show for ages. I would be more excited if they had a better lead. Holmes seems meh.

Just watched first episode. Meh. Wanted to whip Holmes' arse before it was done.

His scenes with Artie loooked like they shot about 4 hours of bullshite ad lib and then spliced together the "best bits".

Maybe it will pay off, but the first episode is not promising.

Artie did a good job but my god Pete Holmes is so unfunny and unlikable.

That's kind of the point. He used to be super Christian/goody good/naive before all those events happened. He seems like a very likeable and relatable guy imo. But everyone is different.

I like Pete Holmes and have listened to a lot of his podcasts in the past few weeks but I get how someone wouldn't like him.

I want to like Pete Holmes. He's well regarded in the industry and seems like a genuine, good dude.

But, except on rare occasions, I don't think he's funny.

If you are ever bored I recommend his podcast it's called You Made It Weird. But just search for comedians you like. Bill Burr, John Mulaney, Brian Regan, Mike Bribiglia, Kumail Nanjiani and Kumail's wife Emily Gordon was really great. But the idea of listening to someone I didn't like on his show is a hard task and I like him.

I've tried it. Enjoyed the John Mulaney episode and the Aaron Rodgers one, but it's not my favorite

Yeah I get that. I think he's better with his actual friends like Kumail and Emily Gordon, people he really knows. The Harris Whittles episodes, especially the second one and hearing Whittles talk about heroin was so sad to listen to after his OD.

Artie said he was a regular on the show. IMDB has him in three episodes. He was the only reason I watched.

Yeah, he strikes me like a Spike Feresten type who must be great at networking behind the scenes but it kind of amazes me that they keep getting opportunities over comedians who actually make me laugh.

I watched a little bit of "Conan O'Brien Can't Stop" last night, and I can see why he likes Pete. Behind the scenes (assuming the footage was authentic), Conan enjoys being around people who are serious and polite and conduct conversations like "That was really fun. You did a very good job." I've always been a big fan of the Conan show, but behind the scenes he looks like a boring nice guy who likes to be around boring nice people.

Just curious who makes you laugh that you feel like isn't getting opportunities?

The scene where he gets in the truck and Uncle John's Band is playing had me in tears.

For me it's Nick Dipoalo even though he did have a big part in Amy Schumer's Emmy winning 12 Angry Men sketch. Jeselnik too.

I've stuck with it, and it is growing on me.

TJ Miller is good in his role as TJ Miller. I liked when he scolded the ex-wife for screwing a guy in Pete's bed "who looks like he plays soccer."

If anyone is still watching I thought the third episode has been the best so far.

Yeah TJ Miller has been great. I lost it when he flipped the couch and started the fire.
