Not possible. They're devoting two seasons to book 3 alone. There is no way that they'll be able to cover books 4 and 5 in one season
You have a lot of faith Martin will finish these books sometime in the next 15 years?

Completely aside from the timetable, does anyone think he can finish the story in two more books? (I don't.)

Sure, start killing a lot of people off and their story arc ends. As long as he does not add any more new characters he could do it.

It's possible, but I think it's going to feel rushed. It's been five books just covering Fall. I think Winter is supposed to be longer than Fall. Even more years. I was thinking maybe something like 10 years. The last book should be the start of spring near the end. Martin would need to start doing pretty large time jumps.

Someone should give him a dozen donuts everytime he finishes 100 pages. That should motivate Ser Too Fat to Write a Book.

Sure. WoW will be his longest book to date and I'm sure the next one will be just as long.
I think people are worried because of how little the story progressed in the last 2 books, however I see those as more backstory and set up for the final 2. Just look at how much the story progressed in Storm alone, the next 2 should have a similar pace.

Agreed. I think both WoW and ADoS will both be like ASoS in terms of pacing and shite hitting the fan.

I hope so but the last two have definitely moved the plot sideways rather than forward. He keeps broadening the plot rather than wrapping up. Very similar to Jordan's loss of focus in his Wheel of Time.

No. The book is called A Dream of Spring.

So the series ends at the beginning/middleish part of winter? That may be right, but it just seems like more a complete cycle if we get brought all the way around to the beginning of spring by the very end of the series.
What are some of y'alls opinions on time jumps as a general concept for the series?

I feel like the end of feast is the start of winter.

The only time I ever felt pity for Theon is on the show when Theon admitted Ned was his true dad. Why couldn't Martin write something like that or at least make Theon tell us that the Starks were good to him and his true family? Instead we get vague bullshite.

Theon was in a tough spot. Any decision he made was betrayal. He's weak, but he really isn't that bad of a dude. I try not to fault people for failing to do what they are incapable of doing.

My problem was that Martin never had him even had the slightest bit of an internal battle like we saw on TV. It was like, "whelp, back at Pyke now frick my BFF Robb, yolo lol." Nothing. It was weak writing and even as he is near zombie like in ADWD he doesn't say shite about regrets until Lady Dustin pushes it out of him.

Oh and I agree with you about Theon. I like how the show has shown that he regrets his decision and realizes that his dad was an arse.
