I think it's strange how people use the phrase "cancelling a tv show". They have talked a lot about cancelling Longmire and Bloodline. However if a show has an opportunity to close out the story I don't really consider it a cancelation as much as a forced conclusion. I just think cancelations paints things in an uneccerary negative light. Longmire is going 6 seasons and has technically had two seasons to close out the story. There isn't anything negative about that. Bloodline on the other hand may should be thought of as a cancellation with that awful attempt at an ending. To me cancellation applies to getting shut down mid season or with a huge cliff hanger that will never be realized.

If you get cancelled but the network gives you an opportunity to conclude the story you're still cancelled. The network is forcing you to end before you wanted to.

Yeah I don't know. Does this dude want discussion, or he just needed to get that off his chest?

I think this thread needs to come to a forced conclusion.

I'm on vacation with way too much time on my hands. I apparently highly miscalculated the interest others would have on this subject. It happens. Apologies to all.

It's a forced conclusion either way. You can wreck your car or have your car wrecked. Still a wreck.

I mean sure. But there is a difference in my mind between getting shut down mid season and being able to conclude the story with a final entire season. But apparently I've put way more thought into this than other people, evidenced by the cold response to this thread.

Magnum PI concluded, he re-up'd back into the Navy and other series-long threads were tied up.

The Cape was cancelled- I actually tried to watch that, and the last episode had Summer Glau randomly doing some ballet shite... and there just wasn't another episode.
