One of the best movies of the century. When the coffee house exploded at the beginning, I immediately knew this was going to be one of my favorite movies. Alfonso Cuaron pretty much gets a lifetime pass for creating this film.

Why the HBO behind it?

Why does he need a pass?

He did Chidren of Men, then the next film he directed was Gravity. . .which was solid.

Hell, the movie he did before CoM was Prisoner of Azkhaban, which was easily the best Potter movie, or at least top 2

Ok. Just thought that was odd since the movie has got to be a decade or so old, and many of us saw it in the theater.

one of my favorites from the 2000's.

very solid flick all around.

i can't remember what i was watching the other day, but i noticed that they did a very similar long shot of one 5 minute scene like CoM.

ETA: It was london has fallen. was probably the highlight of that movie.

Yea it's streaming HBO, sorry. I didn't get to watch it so it was a nice find. No idea the director created Gravity.

Cuaron is one of those directors whose movies have become required viewing when they're released. Children of Men is his best

Children of Men is one of the greatest movies ever made. If you haven't seen it, you really should make the time. It's great.

Spoilers, I guess

The scene where all the chaos stops while she walks with the baby is staggering. That is one of the powerful scenes in any movie.

Just finished watching this movie for the first time. I was honestly blown away.

Disclaimer: I'm not a huge movie aficionado, and probably don't have great taste. That being said, I highly recommend this movie. Even if you don't love the movie, you won't be bored by it. It pretty much goes balls to the wall for 1 hour and 45 minutes.

My second favorite film of 2006 and probably Alfonso Cuaron's best film thus far.

Was CoM the original continuous one shot? That scene was mind blowing when this first came out

If you have zero concepts of physics.

If you just want to see great CGI

If you just want to see Sandra defying time by looking more fit and more fine than should be possible.

For me, the complete disregard for physics severely lessens the effect of items 2 and 3.

The movie is a C- for me. Not quite "solid"
