I don't get the hate for it now.
It's probably just me.

Yes its cheesy, but its supposed to be. Everything released around that time was cheesy. The Goonies is possibly the cheesiest movie ever invented, and is still one of my favorites.
Frankenstein picks up Dracula and says "bogus".

I don't think I have to say anything else.

"Who ever said Spaceballs and Ferris Buehler need to DIAF"

THIS!!!

"Howard The Duck"

Aging well would imply that something at one time had redeeming qualities and this movie was so awful it was never any good to begin with. This movie aged like raw rotten meat that has been sitting in the July sun for a month which is to say it was disgusting to begin with

It doesn't but don't get all bent out of shape. I just said I still like watching it. I didn't say it sucked.

I'm amazed no one has said...

Return of the Jedi

and whoever said The Wizard of Oz hasn't aged well--GTFO!!! One of the best movie musicals made directly for the screen.

That was the first Scott Glenn role I ever noticed. Was hard to accept Glenn in any "good guy" roles for a long time after that. Never thought about it much but I've never given him the credit he deserves as a good actor. Going from Wes in Urban Cowboy to the guy I would have trusted with my life five years later as Emmett in Silverado says a lot.

I don't know if he can carry a movie but he's great in supporting roles. He's good for the straight guy he usually gets to play like in Absolute Power, Buffalo Soldiers and The Silence of the Lambs. He's even better in movies he gets to be more of a person like The Right Stuff, Training Day, The Shipping News and the lady's father in Secretariat.

This certainly does not fit in this list.

I was a kid when I saw it and it really isn't as good anymore. Watch it and be sober and then tell me it still holds up

Although, speaking of Sho Nuff, I'd like to see that again now that I'm older.
And someone mentioned Monster Squad, might also be interesting.

Yeah, The Last Dragon was great. I haven't seen Monster Squad since I was a 12 yo kid so I do wonder if that's held up..

Yeah, the guy who said Goonies is crazy, but I said Spaceballs.

I'm telling you, I just watched it recently and sober and it had me cringing pretty often. It still had some great lines though. I'm just saying it didn't hold up for as funny as it was when I was a kid.

Go watch it and report back

Meh. I saw Space Balls last night for about the 30th time and it was still good. When you realize it's a Mel Brooks spoof movie you appreciate it for what it is. It's a very quotable movie which a lot of the good ones do.
