The feel good movie of the year.
i loved the book, but damn. this was probably the least movie-friendly book of McCarthy's just because of how fricked up it is.

considering the reviews say it is a faithful adaptation, i feel obligated to give you fair warning: it will be one of the most messed up movies you've ever seen.

The depravity of that book was awe-inducing, disturbing, thrilling, disgusting, hopeful, hopeless, etc, etc, etc. One of the more "rock you to your core" pieces of literature I have ever encountered but very very well done.

no interest. I"m tired of movies and books just trying to one up each other with the most depraved shite that anyone can think of under the pretense of making some meta statement about human nature or what not.

Yeah but the book was written in 1973.
Haven't read it but know the premise. Not sure I trust Franco's arse with this.

McCarthy's books make for relatively bad movies, imo. No Country For Old Men was great and all, but I could only watch it once. Would be bored to death trying to watch it again.

McCarthy novels are huge right now. I would love a Blood Meridian film but it will never happen.

I could watch it all day. Child of God will be...interesting. Everyone said Blood Meridian wouldn't be made, and yet Child of God makes the cut? Nuts.

I agree, he would be a sight to see on the big screen

im torn. no actor could play the judge like i imagined him. one of the best characters in fiction

Franco tried to make Blood Meridian, but that fell through. wouldn't be surprised if it eventually gets made. Ridley Scott was interested in it at one point as well.

Ridley Scott would turn one of the engineers from Prometheus into Judge Holden.

Fair enough. I loved it, just don't see myself watching it again.
