If you were Eddie LeBec and kicking so much arse as a goalie for the Bruins and basically had your pick of single women who would want your dick in the Boston area, would you pick Carla Tortellini?
I don't know but the premise of this episode just seemed very unrealistic and I wasn't buying it

I believe that's why the Eddie character was killed off, because Jay Thomas wanted "combat pay" to kiss Rhea Perlman.

He made jokes about it on a radio show and they got rid of him.
However on the show I remember him as being a pretty bad goalie and then he and Carla started dating and he went on a hot run.
THEY joke about him being bad much like Sam was a bad pitcher.

Jay Thomas's Mom was living in a nursing home in Belle Chasse years ago. I walked by and did a double take. Nice guy
