Characters portrayed as attractive that weren't

I know this thread is entirely subjective, just interested in other takes.
For me:
Donna on That 70's Show - I personally didn't find anything special about her at all. The whole "hot Donna" thing was over the top. Jackie, Laurie, Midge, and Jackie's mom Pam were all much more attractive.
Skyler on Breaking Bad - I love Breaking Bad, but feel as if the writers tried to sell her as being beautiful when she clearly wasn't. The whole Marilyn Monroe comparison was a joke. Anna Gunn is one ugly woman...always got a transsexual vibe from her.
For me:

You're wrong as far as Skyler goes. Gilligan doesn't try to portray anything as more pretty than it actually is. If anything he tries to showcase things things as dirty, gritty, down to earth. It's pretty obvious just from watching his shows.

I agree with you on all of this except for when it comes to Skyler. She is referred to as beautiful on numerous occasions throughout the series, and it makes no sense. I think he had a soft spot for Skyler because she generated so much hate, although he was largely to blame for that very hate due to how he wrote the character. He even stated he did not get all the hate from fans, and I think this maybe clouded his judgment.
