Correct but in that movie they used fake looking lasers. It stood out to me too when I watched it.

Why? b/c you don't believe that would ever happen? Why not?
The whole point of the ending is it showed that there were guys in the SS that were just as innocent and not wanting to be there as whatever the little kids name was. They showed you how he did not want to kill that guy earlier in the movie. The ending just showed how we assume the bad guys, the germans, are the worst of the worst and all want to kill us, but there are guys on the other side that aren't killers and might not want to be in a war either.
They all seem to get around to the reality that it's either kill or be killed, but most start out scared shitless and don't want to kill people unless it's absolutely necessary, and they find out that you can't trust anyone so shoot first and ask questions later.

You go around a disabled tank and continue your mission, its not a threat. A disabled tank taking out that many SS guys is fantasy.
One part of the movie they nailed was when they were bringing the SS prisoner (a tanker) through the American tank yard and the American tankers wanted t kill him, very accurate. American armor did poorly against SS armor.

so in war, when people shoot at you, you just go around them and continue your mission? Yeah they took out a lot more than probably is realistic, but it's hollywood.
