Sophie Turner as Ariel.

If she can sing well, that's completely spot on.

Best was Fillion as Flynn Rider.

Or just cast Chuck and Mandy Moore, since the characters looked a lot like them in Tangled anyways.

Anyone who has ever watched Firefly knows how perfect Fillion is in a Flynn Rider situation. He would be so much better than Chuck.

It's a perfect match.

Maybe back in the day, he's a little old now

Agreed.

I haven't seen Maleficent yet but I definitely plan on seeing Cinderella next year and whenever the Beauty and the Beast live adaptation is out too...BatB is my favorite Disney animated film so it better be good.

I was obviously kidding about Ron Perlman as Beast although he has played Beast before. It'd have to be Andy Serkis in mo-cap for me.

Another casting: Zac Efron as Peter Pan. There are quite a few native american ladies who could pull off Pochantos, but I get the feeling that if Disney was going to to do a big budget Pochantos film, they'd get a hispanic actress with some name cache to do it.

Maleficent is worth it. I bet you are going to love Richard Madden as whatever prince is in Cinderella.

BatB is my favorite Disney Princess story too. Belle is easily the best/my favorite Disney Princess.

did it do well?

It was blasted by critics, but is doing reasonably well at the box office. It will be interesting to see how long before the negative word of mouth reviews start to hurt it.

i heard it was pretty terrible.

Angelina Jolie is good in the role, but the story is horrible. Whoever wrote the script should be ashamed.

I love Belle because she's smart/bookish and not like the other princesses.

But was Belle a princess though?

Technically no. Even after marrying the beast. He was just a baron. A lesser feudal lord.

Audiences and critics had differing opinions. It has an "A" CinemaScore and deserves it. Critics are mostly failed journalists and/or people who aren't creative enough to work in the film/tv industry. Most of them only like certain types of movies and if a movie isn't that type, they pan it. They love foreign dramas and hate most comedies (save for the ones who are really dramedies).

Wouldn't matter. Snow White and the Huntsman had no singing. Maleficent had no singing. I doubt Cinderella will have singing.
