Carrie Fisher's bullshite social media campaign

Typical victim card, PR bullshite.

People weren't put off by her age. They were put off by the fact that she's had so much plastic surgery and botox that she sounded and looked like Bruce Jenner. She could hardly move her face, which is kind of a problem when you're a professional actor. I said in a thread a while back that she'd look ridiculous on screen, and she did. It distracts from the movie and is really uncomfortable to watch.

And really, given the amount of money she's spent on cosmetic surgery, I'd say that no one is more shallow and obsessed with her looks than she is, so her statements are the height of hypocrisy.

Don't get me wrong. The elective surgery culture and peer pressure are the norm in Lalawood, and she doesn't have any less enhancements than any other rich, old jewish women I know. shite, my mom's friend Ina Ginsberg looked like the guy from "The Scream" painting by the time she died.

Judi Dench is 20 years older than Fisher, and no one ever complains about her "looking old" because she's a great actress. The same can be said about hundreds of older actresses, so Fisher's typical, whiny victimhood angle is just insulting PR bullshite, and the media talking heads labeling anyone who points this out as "trolls" is equally insulting.
