I searched but couldn't find a thread on this series. It's on Cinemax and is based on the series of private detective novels, beginning with Cuckoo's calling, written by J K Rowling, using the pseudonym, Robert Galbraith. It's worth a watch. Trust me. It ain't no Harry Potter, and it's not Y. A. crap.
Some of it's fairly dark, but it's well done. His assistant is pretty cute.

Cinemax is turning out some quality viewing these days, but you can catch alot of their older stuff on Amazon Prime.
