When John read Marco's report and saw where O'Bannon was claiming to have found the daughter's necklace, all John had to do was drive to any gift shop in the keys and purchase the same necklace. Then return home and pass it off as the one he took away and give it to the daughter as a peace offering. It would immediately nullify any necklace O'Bannon has in his possession.

The necklace was personally engraved. He could always try to duplicate whatever was on it(assuming he remembered), but not as cut and dry as your idea.

I'm curious how they are going to drag this out for 10 more episodes. Are they planning on having a major murder every season and just keep stringing this thing alone?

I didn't think they could drag this out this entire season but they did by bringing in the deeper character lines of Danny's son and girlfriend and what happened to him before he arrived back home on the bus. IMO next season was foreshadowed well with Bo Bridges character telling Meg about her fathers determination and hinting at how he was able to afford such prime property as a young naval officer. Next season will probably dive into his shady past as well as why Sissy Spacek left the family when the kids were young. I can tell the series is not going to have a happy ending ala Breaking Bad.

audiotape etc floating out there?

I must have missed it but when did Danny make these tapes and what exactly is on them? How are these tapes implicating John? Is John on the tape admitting guilt?

Tapes

The tape is a inter seasonal plot development in order to deepen the shite that the family has to endure. Danny supposedly made the recording explaining John, Meg, and Kevin's roll in covering up the cocain smuggling ring at the Rayburn House when he was pissed at John for moving the coke and letting Wayne Lowery's man come to kill him.

He didn't offer Kevin the opportunity to come into his office. How can you not understand that?

That's irrelevant if he thinks he has enough to convict them.

meh, he was clearly being cocky about having enough information to take them all down. When they run to tell their story they are begging to get off easier. He wanted to nail them all.

I can understand his personal issue with Meg but Kevin is there telling you he was there. But you're right, a cop wouldn't want that.

it wasnt about Kevin, John or Meg individually. It was about the Rayburns as a whole.

Wasn't this the same necklace Sarah tried to retrieve on the day she drowned? Danny had kept it all those years before giving it to Jane. I don't recall anything about an engraving but I'll take your word for it.

Thank you.

So it's Danny's word (on tape) against his. The only person other than Meg and Kevin (fricking Kevin) is the individual (we know who it is) that saw Kevin and John come out of the Miami apartment where they stashed the cocaine.

When Eric O'Bannon repurchased it from the pawn shop, it showed the initials "JR" on the back of the pendant.

I really enjoyed this season. They left us with an immense cliffhanger. Kevin is such a goddamn fool. His foolishness and complete lack of awareness was so evident in that final scene. He's like Donnie form The Big Lebowski...he's always out of his element.

Thanks. I missed that at the time. That would make it a bit more difficult for John to subsitute but still something he could pull off considering his life is on the line.

Again, how did his character go from a successful boatyard owner and crime free person, who obviously made decent choices in life (he married up as well) to a complete drug addict, alcoholic, moron? Obviously the stress of the situation can get to a man, but that transformation is too extreme.

There should have been a backstory with Kevin to show he had the proclivity to be this way. Lord knows, there is plenty opportunity to flesh out one of the main characters as opposed to bringing in another poorly back-storied character.

The guy that plays Kevin is an awesome actor.
He's a good friend of mine and it was so awesome watching him act like a total frick up this whole season. I think he and Danny and Danny's kid have easily done the best acting jobs on the show. I completely just see him as Kevin and we go way back. Another great season of Bloodline.

It was awesome when Marco was interrogating John and he finally brought up the covered up police report

Marco doesn't acted surprised, but he bites down and leans in and says "Oh, you brushing ME back."

loved it

There really are only a couple of sympathetic characters on the show. Marco is a doucher, but even with the mistake he made, he seems to have a moral compass. So why can't I stand the guy? Good writing and acting. I think my favorite character is probably Eric O'Bannon, just because the dude didn't even do anything that bad, but gets fricked with by nearly everyone else on the show. He's hilarious to me.

Marco buried a case of a dude beating the shite out of his wife to further his career.

He is a piece of shite.

Dannys son is about the only major sympathetic character.

More minor sympathetic characters are John's wife and Chelsea O'Bannon.

She is so skanky attractive. I thought it was implied John banged her in high school?

And Eva has great cans

I thought that John's wife would have shown some concern for him, instead of jumping straight to anger. If she knows her husband as a principled man, how does she not question him with at least some degree of empathy? She's loved him all these years (or maybe she hasn't) and jumps straight to fury? I don't know. It seems like anger would come later, but worry and fear (for him, not just herself and the kids) seems like a more normal first reaction.

I don't mean she should condone his actions, but maybe try to understand how he could've been driven to do it?
