Bloodline - broken shower meaning?

In season 2 there is constant mention of the shower in bungalow 3 being broken and never getting fixed.
Is there any deep meaning behind this or is it simply to show that the mother (my least favorite character) is greatly distraught and has her mind elsewhere besides her business?

Just quit watching Season 2 now. It sucked so bad it killed the series.

It's to show how big of a help Danny really was. The place starts going to hell without him.

Danny was such a good character that season 2 suffered some bc his presence was obviously greatly reduced. It's hard to decide who the real villain is.
