His stuff can be non-conventional so it hurts his mainstream upside but there is no one out there right now like this guy.

Ok. I'm good with Lando. He is definitely killing it. Not gonna die on that hill.

Hader, though, he just destroys me in everything he does and just kills it.

He is absolutely brilliant.

One thing I'll say about Hader, and I think it's a huge compliment for comedic entertainers, is that he doesn't have any standard hot button go-to's. He can be talking about almost anything, have a normal conversation like an adult, and then take it somewhere hilarious.

He can also laugh at other people instead of doing the standard smug cynic routine.

His segment on Norm MacDonald Live last year was highly entertaining to me: youtube link

May be overstating it a bit but yeah he's awesome.

Hilarious, but I actually mostly enjoy his stuff when he's not going totally overboard. Forgetting Sarah Marshall, Adventureland, those are the best types of roles.

And if you really want to see the kind of range he has, check this one out. Very underrated and something totally out of his normal repertoire:

quote:

Following many years of estrangement, twins Milo (Bill Hader) and Maggie (Kristen Wiig) have an unexpected reunion after a set of near-tragedies. The situation forces them to confront how their lives became so broken. For Maggie, it means examining why she's so unhappy in a marriage to a loving husband. For Milo, it means meeting with his first love to see if their romance can reignite. Eventually, they learn that living truthfully and accepting each other is the only way to move forward.

I know he doesn't have a big role, but he cracks me up in Tropic Thunder.

He's an incredibly talented comedian, but he's also the type of funny that's only really appealing to/appreciated by comedy nerds.

Mainstream movie-goers/TV watchers typically find him too "weird."

I love Bill Hader tho.

Watch him work

Hader has always been underrated. He'll end up being this generations Norm MacDonald. People will love him after his career hits it's twilight.

So... stand-up, TV, and movies? Is that the new trifecta?

No need to try to take the shine off of Hader in this thread. The guy is extremely talented and his talent was obvious from the instant that he started his first sketch on SNL.

He's an accomplished musician, as well.
