Would the interactive comic book sell in 1988?

I was not at comic book age at this time but would a $19 comic book with most likely limited capabilities sell in 88-90?

MacMillan was all in but Paul's concerns seemed warranted, $19 for a comic book, would it sell?

You can't buy that colonial in Chicago on failed pitches.

A comic book cost about 85 cents then, so it was a pretty big jump. But they could have waited a couple years when graphic novels and special collectors editions were out of control and sold it as a one-off.
