I was totally underwhelmed when I first saw it. But after a few more viewings I've come to really enjoy it.

Me too. And it continues to get better every time I watch it. Everytime I catch another line that was reused from an earlier part. My favorite is the "this aggression cannot stand" line the dude uses. It's from the background TV at the grocery store.

I can't understand people who feel nothing about this movie. I mean say what you want about he tenants of National Socialism, dude, at least it's a ethos.

That's one of the best parts of the movie. The Dude basically never ever says anything original. It's really pretty brilliant.

In the parlance of our times and all.

Just warning you, it is a movie that gets funnier the more times you watch and the more nuance you pick up on. I thought it was boring the first 3 times I saw it. Now it's my all time favorite.

You watched a movie you found boring 3 times? Holy free time.

I will have to try this sometime, only watched it once because a couple of millenials said I reminded them of The Dude

It's a good movie but didn't quite do it for me in the comedy side.

I had to watch it twice before I liked the comedy. Same with O Brother Where Art Thou.

Well, for both of these movies if you wanna be a fan, I figured you should be one with the capacity for abstract thought. But if that ain't the consensus view, then hell, let's put it to a vote.

Freshman year at LSU. My best friend loved it and played it all the time.

I didn't like it at all the first time I watched it. After another 2 views, I still think it's overrated.

I don't know why but "Yeah nice marmot" makes me laugh more than any other line in the movie
