- Dark Knight bank scene was awesome.
- Saving Private Ryan.
- Good call on X-Men 2..Nightcrawler in the White House was badass.
- Gladiator battle is great (and the first one I thought of when I saw the thread)

Someone mentioned the opening sequence of Contact one time...it's pretty cool. Not sure it counts as a scene though.

I've always been fascinated by the beginning of High Plains Drifter. Clint just casually strolls into town and calmly kills three guys and rapes a woman and then just goes about his day like it's no big deal.

Lots of people are saying Saving Private Ryan, but I don't think that should qualify as an opening scene. It was a great scene, and was very early on in the beginning, but as I pointed out before the actual opening scene of the movie took place in the cemetery with old Ryan

I like the graveyard scene in Saving Private Ryan. However, I wish his granddaughters were not so good looking. I know I am supposed to be focused on him but I just can't help thinking about how hot his granddaughters look. Bad casting in my opinion.

Inglourious Basterds with the Jew Hunter is outstanding. Great, great writing and acting in that scene.

The opening wedding scene in Kill Bill was off the charts.

Ha. I'm all for hot women but I feel guilty checking them out over a grave at Normandy when I'm supposed to be caught up in the emotion of Ryan.
