Uh oh.
Protests in the streets if this thing is below 90%.

Hmm, this is disappointing. I was thinking 87% since it was clearly going to be a beat for beat remake that not everyone would like.
But the consensus is Luke Evans killed it as Gaston, so that's good.

Most of the YouTube reviewers I trust have seen it and have given it rave reviews.

Usually early reviews are paid shills.
How many times have we seen high RT scores only to tank after the first few weeks?
If a Disney movie isn't rocking it initially, something is amiss.

Good. I'd hate for live action Disney remakes to become the next comic book movies where we have 10 a year.

Movie reviewers are probably the worst people on the planet
"Timing is everything. A quarter century has passed since we saw Disney’s Belle fall for the Beast; today, the message that behind every rough man is a charming prince (sorry, Emma) is regressive, if not lethal."
"The film feels dangerously stuck in the past at a moment in history when yearning for the good old days is a political statement."

This is exactly what was going to happen

Still lingering?

I mean did they not know what the story was going to be about?
Hell, not only does Belle reject the the womanizer in Gaston but she saved the Beast from the wolves after he saved her from the wolves.

Yeah, it's ridiculous. Beauty and the Beast was seen as a progressive film at its time. Belle wasn't after a hunk of man meat and was actually intelligent. All the other Disney princesses before Belle would have immediately fallen for Gaston.
They're going to have to significantly change Ariel's character in that remake if they don't want to get panned.

The last thing I care about is what Rotten Tomatoes thinks. And I've never even been to the Metacritic website.

Yeah, regardless of reviews, this one is going to make over a billion. It's probably Disney's most beloved film, The Lion King being its only challenger.
