Good god youre fricking tool
I assure you if Dakota Fanning were nominated for best actress at 9 yrs old, I would be critical and question every reasoning behind it.
And I question the position of anyone suggesting such stupidity. For the obvious reasons

"Wallis, at age five, had to lie about her age to audition for her very first acting job the starring role in Beasts of the Southern Wild because the minimum age to be considered was six."
I believe she was actually age 6 when it was shot. She was 9 at the Academy Awards. She is the youngest actress to ever be nominated.
Many people believe she deserved the nomination.
Awards and nominations for her so far:

truth hurts clown. No, I don't think you would be questioning Dakota Fanning, just the opposite. But nice try anyways.

Well maybe the academy will tailor the awards one day to accommodate this new wave of grade school thespian. Maybe most dramatic cry by an infant? Most realistic bark by a dog in a comedy..

If you are not a Indy movie fan in general, it seems as though you will not like it. It's simplicity is amazing, beautiful and scary (but not really sad). This movie features some exceptional, layered characters the likes of which film rarely sees, strong performances from its lead actors, an impressive score, and has a pretty powerful message. The down side is it's portrayed in this really askew and artistic light that you'll either love or hate it. There are definitely things to enjoy in "Beasts of the Southern Wild," but overall it just comes off as bittersweet. It's as if it's too artistic for it's own good.

This was my 2nd favorite film of the year, after Django Unchained. I thought the little girl was superb.
