I can definitely understand the low RT scoring, but it was still entertaining. Beach version of 21/22 Jump Street, but the acting was subpar at best. Even DJ had some awkward scenes where the acting felt forced. I think the director tried to do too much. was playing music over scenes trying to make it more bad arse, but it just clouded the scene and was confusing. (especially when they went to boat fire scene to save the 2 girls and found the councilman)
Efron was funny as he's been in his last handful of roles. Pretty much plays an on screen Ryan Lochte.
Kelly Rohrbach and Daddario Boobs... and surprisingly I thought Rohrbach's acting was better than Daddario's.
The guy who played Ronnie did a great job. His relationship with Rohrbach was hilarious. The scene where he sings ROAR in the shower . Was the comedy savior of the film IMO. gave off a Jonah Hill/Josh Gad vibe with his delivery.
The plot was very cliché in a sense of you knew who the bad guy was helping the drug dealer chick within 30 minutes of the movie. Blowing up the drug dealer with a firework was pretty farfetched haha but so was "turning the canal into the g damn xgames". it works I guess.
Efron dressed as a woman was hideous. It was on the level of William Dafoe in Boondock Saints dressed as a woman. yikes.
Overall: enjoyable and laughable. Won't even win an MTV award much though. In the other thread where someone mentioned DJ needs to start focusing on quality versus quantity is spot on. I was iffy on his Central Intelligence film with Kevin Hart and now this one being another subpar movie isn't great for him. He's swimming in millions so whatever ha.

Do they have a post credits scene setting up the rest of the Baywatch universe?

Hasselhoff rises from the depths of the Pacific, eyes glowing red.

Post credit scene, yes, with Hasselhoff. They joked around by saying "yes you should definitely be in the sequel!" Also, Pamela Anderson made a 10 second slow mo cameo at the end. She's keeping whoever her plastic surgeon is in business that's for sure.
