I could have advised you against that.

Well, on a related note, we're supposed to accept that an 11-year old James T. Kirk can steal a 200 year old Corvette and lead the authorities on a high speed chase, yet the grown Kirk we all knew was relatively unfamiliar with automobiles.

Anyway, before you watch any further, read this, although it definitely has spoilers. It made me feel better about a lot of things.

Pretty good read, hadn't seen that before. ALl his points are true.

I honestly doubt I finish out the series.

As a general rule of thumb, if you don't like The Wire, Cowboy Bebop, or the remake of BSG, I don't really like you.

I can see where a person who was unaware of the original series could enjoy the remake of BG. I just didn't. I prefer new material, based in a new universe (What's wrong with Firefly?), rather than someone trying to get me to watch a program based on its name.

The new BG had little in common with the late 70s series of which I was a fan.

Why should somebody "get me" for that?

I really like The Wire (just started watching this month - halfway through Season 4), am just unfamiliar with "Cowboy Bebop" (whatever that is) and I didn't like the remake of BSG.

Does that mean we can't be friends? I just don't think I could bear it.

I'm just trying to warn you. In addition to BSG he is also a big Kurosawa fan (translation: probably has a samurai sword).
