In a world gone crazy, one man attempts to bring some normality to the board by giving BvS the old TigerMyth kick in the jewels.

I assume I will hate this one given the boards overwhelming hatred. After the initial board backlash, I decided to wait for the R-rated director's cut which was recently released. There is a chance that the extra 30 minutes in the director's cut help smooth over some of the bumps that made you guys hate the theatrical release. Update - It Doesn't Help!

Well. It doesn't give a good first impression. My absolute #1 Pet Peeve - slow motion. The only thing worse than slo-mo is a shaky cam mixed between slo-mo and we get that too. There is only one good use of slow motion which I would get banned for posting.

Ok, won't get in trouble for that one.

So the thug capped dad, then shot mom in the face but he didn't have the stomach to shoot Bruce? One thing if mom jumped in front of the shot but that dude straight up cold-blooded shot her in the head then ran off without capping a kid old enough to be able to ID him.

Right off the bat, I do like Batman seeing the attack on Metropolis. Whenever we have these world ending attacks, I always wonder why none of the other Super Heroes show up.

DISCLAIMER - Before you get too emotionally invested in my destroying this movie, there is a chance I'll like it. (I don't) I had no problem with Superman other than Clark just watching while his dad died (not remotely believable in any rational world).

Have some Harley.

More slow-motion. Yay!

Damn shame. Holly Hunter done went and got old.

I get why folks affected by Superman are pissed but in every occasion saving the world TRUMPS collateral damage. When a whole group of indestructible Kryptonians attack, there is going to be insane amounts of damage. Update - Batman sure gives zero fricks about collateral damage in this movie.

Ok. I could see some folks getting derailed from the start. They torched those folks to make it look like Superman did that, so the whole African terrorist guy was nothing more than a trap for Superman. Some mouth breathers are going to lose the plot early. Hell, this is just step 1 of 48 steps. I like that they didn't spoon feed us the evil plot but come on 48 steps and I'm not really exaggerating much.

I miss Gene Hackman. Holy crap Eisenberg is bad.

Where can I get that outfit? And where can I get a Ms Teschmacher?

More fracking slow fricking motion. Even if I somehow end up liking the movie, the direction now gets a zero with the 3rd slow mo scene 1/5 into the movie.

So Lex is not only insane but creepy. What the hell was the point of the jolly rancher into the dudes mouth? Was that really product placement?

I was about to bitch about the government giving Lex everything he asked for when in reality, the government would want to seize the Kryptonite and test in in their labs with their defense contractors so it was nice to see Holly Hunter say no.

Does Eisenberg think he is in a Tim Burton movie? His acting style would barely work in a Burton movie but nobody else is going for camp so his campy (bad) acting is distracting. Okay. I read plenty of bad things about Eisenberg and in truth you guys were too nice.

More slow motion. Might be going for a record for most number of slow motion scenes in a movie.

I forgot what I was bitching about and now I need a nap. Any Diane is good Diane even when they have her made up to look old.

Can someone explain to me why having a Bat brand means death? I assume everyone knew who got the crap beat out of them by Batman in the past so why is a brand now a death sentence other than a weak nonsensical plot device? If the whole point is to get Superman pissed at Batman then that is damn weak.

I grew up watching Lynda so I have a tough time with Gal.

WTF??? Don't know what any of that was but the futuristic stuff was fun. What were those insectoid things?

So Bruce is willing to attack Superman because of waking dreams he keeps having? Is Bruce as insane as Lex? Small amounts of collateral death are fine Bruce?

More slow mo. Hell, idiots used slow mo on a 2 second scene. By the way, my hatred of slow mo stems from the 10 minute battle between Tarzan the apeman and a snake in that Bo Derek disaster.

90 minutes in and really not a whole lot has happened. The setup really didn't need 90 minutes.

Wow. More cold-blooded. Tossing the African chick into the subway. Was that in the theatrical cut?

Hope everyone here has already watched HoC.

The score has been weak to this point. I like a good score and own quite a few, so it sticks out to me that to this point, the score hasn't stuck out in any way. It is weak from start to finish. I guess they realize they can't come close to a Williams score so why try.

Holy crap. I wasn't expecting that scene with the hearing. Damn. For those Anti-Darkites out there.

This movie just went black.

They are clearly placing the blame on the cripple guy so why exactly is Bruce appearing to blame Supes while gearing up for war with Supes? Oh for frick's sake. Superman was supposed to xray every person in the building before attending the hearing? I hate this contrived shite. Even though I liked 24, it got old every fracking season when the head of CTU would initially think Jack had gone rogue.

Batman has always been a bit emotional but here he is almost as deranged as Lex. Why is Alfred helping when he clearly doesn't agree that Superman is an enemy? So Batman's motives are controlled by waking dreams and now Clark is having conversations with dead people. Weak.

I know not everyone liked the bat armor, but I read The Dark Knight when it came out so I do like it.

2 hours in and I have no clue what Lex is up to or how he knows the identity of Batman and Superman.

Sure. Evidently Superman is a stalker. He just happens to be around any time someone decides to push Lois off a building. Since Lex had no clue that Supes went to the mountain to talk to a dead person, he sure got lucky with that push.

Do you concur?

So Superman needs to convince Batman to help him and he decides to do this by throwing him around like a rag doll.

I just don't buy Batman's murderous rage. The setup just didn't work for me and it is necessary to elevate this from crap to something more than crap.

So all of those random tosses by Superman and Bats just somehow end them up in the room with the Kryptonite Spear. Ok.

Immersion therapy. I'm almost becoming numb to the outrageous amounts of slow motion crap. 2 hour movie extended to 3 with this use of slow-motion.

Instead of attacking Batman, why didn't Superman slowly burn Lex's fingers off until given the ALL CLEAR on his mother. Anyone believe Lex was willing to die? I guess it is possible since they did a shite job of explaining any of his motivation.

From murderous rage to I'm off to save your mom in less than 30 seconds. Ok. I actually enjoyed the fight. Liked how the weapons worked. When folks fight over the issue of BVS, the key element is that Superman never wants to kill Batman thus that is how he can be defeated.

Wouldn't the Russian have torched Ma Kent the second he heard the Bat Plane? Just like I didn't believe Clark allowed his dad to die, does anyone believe he would send Batman off to save his mother? 1 minute ago, he was willing to kill Batman, now he just leaves it up to Bats to save his mom? No, I'm really not over thinking it and you popcorn movie morons are the problem not the solution. All of my gripes could have been solved by simply writing a rational plot. I liked the fight scenes. Liked the effects. Just felt the plot needed lots of work.

Let me see if I get this right. Lex has an insane hatred of Superman and Aliens controlling Earth so he creates an unstoppable insane version of the thing he hates.

I'm not overly familiar with Wonder Woman other than the TV show and Superfriends but how exactly did she just shrug off that Doomsday blast?

Yay! More slo-mo.

Ok. I was liking the battle until Superman in the middle of a massive battle, hears Lois banging on some rubble under water 4 miles away. That is some really specific hearing he has going on there. At least he didn't have to circle the Earth real fast.

It is a shame I was spoiled on the death. That would have been a big surprise. Some clown spoiled it in a thread that had zero to do with the movie. More than a little ballsy to kill off...oh wait. Scratch that!

At the end of the day, I do think there was a good movie in there somewhere. They needed a better motivation for Batman fighting Superman. The villains motive almost always sucks whether it be comic books or James Bond so I'll give them a pass there but Eisenberg was just dreadful.

Ha. One last slow motion crap scene. Thanks I needed that. We really needed that shell casing from the salute in slow motion.

What a cop out. Since I avoided spoilers other than the jackass saying Superman died, I wasn't spoiled that on the final end. Weak. How about at least wait until the Justice League movies to explain how he came back to life. Why ruin the impact so soon.

Don't think I would watch again. Not even on a rainy day with nothing to do. While I liked the effects and lots of the battle, the convoluted evil plot was nonsense. Batman was borderline psycho himself and all that hatred somehow disappeared cause he said Martha.

I know tldr; X infinity

It's a batman movie, not Shindler's List. Relax and watch some superheroes fight.

Correct.

not Shindler's List

Can you imagine how awesome Shindler's List could've been with the addition of Batman?

Because some people like to have a real discussion above the 3rd grade level.

Sorry about your handicap.
