I’m about 20 years late for the party here, as usual, but I’m just getting started on this show. I just finished watching The Pacific, which was pretty good.

So far David Schwimmer appears to be playing his role as Ross in the army.

I envy you. It is the single finest miniseries in existence.

I’ve seen Lonesome Dove. So the bar is set pretty high.

Have you seen The Pacific?
Which do you prefer?

I've never talked to someone who watched for the first time that didn't talk about how it was one of the most incredible film experiences they've watched. It is deeply moving to every single first time viewer.

Absolutely, as is basically everyone in the cast.

He was also a great doppelgänger for Sobel

What

Not even close

One of the 2-3 greatest miniseries of all time (I think the greatest, personally).

Phenomenal show.

One episode in particular will always bring a tear to my eyes.

I go back and forth, but Band of Brothers is the better miniseries. They're really different; I saw The Pacific first then Band of Brothers like you. I can imagine not thinking The Pacific was as good if I had seen Band of Brothers first.

That's interesting, I bet 90% people that have seen both series watched BoB first.

It really is so captivating as a series. I mean as bad as it looks on tv it was probably 10 times worse in real life

Didn’t have HBO in undergrad when BoB aired. I only saw parts of a few episodes when it was airing. Watched all of The Pacific when it aired and had to watch BoB after that

Been a lot of band of brothers threads recently since it being added to netlfix. I am not complaining it’s my favorite piece of television I’ve ever watched. Outstanding.

I post this in every BoB thread. Speirs tGOAT

So you’ve seen enough Friends episodes to know the Ross character, but haven’t seen one of the seminal series regarding world history? This is the epitome of what’s wrong with the younger generation and the current state of the country.
