I binged it recently and got into it now. But there is something I don't understand. Is the Rock supposed to be an accountant or Financial manager? He keeps talking about managing player's money, but he has no background in finance and they never discuss investments, securities, etc... He is always talking to the agent. But wouldn't it make more sense if he was just a manager or studying to be an agent, even though he's not a lawyer and couldn't write/construct contracts. I just don't get how he would know how to manage money..

I think he's more of a recruiter and Joe and the firm handle the actual money management. That's how I always understood it at least.

i think he's a recruiter salesperson trying to get his clients to sign with the agency, and the financial agency he works with is joined with that sports agent with the black hair

This. He's really just the public face of the firm. Joe is more of the money guy and they have a staff that actually handles the investing. Spencer is more there in a mentoring role to ensure these cats don't completely frick everything up and piss all their $$ away.

Correct. He is trying to get approved by the NFLPA so he can be a financial manager, but for now he just recruits them so to speak and Joe/the firm handled the actual finances.

Rock is more of a parent or baby sitter to these clowns than a financial advisor at this point. He is constantly bailing them out of trouble. No time for financial advice.

He is the face of the sports money management department for Anderson. He is trying to get approved from the players association to be a legit money manager.
