Faces of Death was a right of passage for those of us of a certain age. I remember in our group, one who was convinced everything was real, another who said it was all fake, and the rest of us just not knowing.

That's a perfect of example of the movie revealing it's just a cheesy horror flick and not a documentary.

But remember, this was the 80's when most people saw it...back when everything you saw on TV people thought was real. There wasn't a huge amount of skepticism and distrust.

And a lot of real news reports back then looked just as cheesy. Now that news program looks so fake but back then it could pass for real.
