At Least Tusk is Giving Us Clerks III

The poor opening weekend of Kevin Smith's Tusk at least brings a positive, we are getting Clerks III because of it:

Of course he's doing Clerks 3, because his career is pretty much over otherwise.
I think he should make it and then just retire from filmmaking basically. Its over.

Hope Clerks 3 is as good as Clerks 1&2 was.. Wish Kevin would make another Jay and Slient Bob movie.

I think Smith is being a bit deceptive here, I am sure Clerks III would have been made one way or another. I think he is just trying to drum up something good out of how bad Tusk is drawing.

i dont understand how this works at all. so he makes a film that absolutely bombs. so someone wants to instantly throw money at him to make another movie? he doesnt say how or why this happened. he just said it was a "bridge" to get financing. sounds like this:

Clerks is a Top 10 favorite of mine.
Love Dogma, J&SBSB, Mallrats, and Chasing Amy.
Clerks 2 is not in my Top 100. Very disappointing.
