As if there weren't enough reasons for Tarantino to have his kneecaps broken

The museum will no longer loan out guitars to movie companies for any reason.

Kurt Russell does not frick around. That much should be clear by now. So if you don’t want Kurt Russell to destroy your valuable artifact, you should probably make that crystal clear prior to him picking it up. According to a new story in SSN Insider, the crew of The Hateful Eight failed to really internalize that notion: See, in one scene in the movie, Jennifer Jason Leigh’s Daisy Domergue is playing a guitar, and Russell’s bounty hunter stomps over to her, grabs it, and smashes it to pieces. Turns out that guitar was a priceless antique on loan from the Martin Guitar Museum, and they are less than thrilled to learn what happened. Mark Ulano, the film’s sound mixer, recounts a story about just what went wrong.
The guitar was a loner from the Martin Guitar Museum and there were six doubles made. The guitar was from the 1870’s and was priceless. What was supposed to happen was we were supposed to go up to that point, cut, and trade guitars and smash the double. Well, somehow that didn’t get communicated to Kurt, so when you see that happen on the frame, Jennifer’s reaction is genuine.

Why would they loan a priceless guitar in the first place?

Why wouldn't they just have a replica? Idiotic.

Sounds like the museums fault

Misplaced trust in a shithead like Tarantino?
Some of the comments allege that Tarantino let it happen on purpose.

I'd hate to be the one that had to make that call to the museum

The only reason some of you hate Tarantino now is because of the BLM thing. Get over it.

I always thought he was an a-hole, FTR.

Honestly, why the frick would they loan a guitar out for this? Just use a replica.
Nobody watched this movie and said, "Best part was that guitar from the 1870s".

This just makes the movie more badass imo

Most directors are egotistical assholes. At least he's not Polanski or Woody Allen.

Then I suggest you never read anything about your favorite directors.

I wonder if they loaned out the Declaration of Independence for National Treasure 2

I did a quick check and Dick Boak seems like a nice guy but if he's the one who gave the go ahead to let that guitar out of the mueseum, he messed up big time.
If you have a museum piece, you don't let someone borrow it.
You especially don't let someone borrow it without making sure it's insured for its CURRENT value (which may not be possible).

To add insult to injury, Boak says the guitar was insured for its purchase price, which doesn’t reflect its value as an irreplaceable museum artifact.

Of course you stupid moron.
Nick Cage actually stole it and replaced it with a replica. But no one can prove it. That's why the IRS is always after him.
