I don't know how I feel about that.

The Arrow writers are doing a fine job of building their own universe for the show. I think I'd rather keep it as simple as possible.

Wasn't Laurel's full name "Dinah Laurel Lance"?

I'm not sure if that is her full name in this tv show. But in the comics, I think that Dinah Drake (who was the original Black Canary) was the mother of Dinah Laurel Lance (who was the second Black Canary). At least I think that is right.

That's interesting.

I think a lot hinges on how well they pull off the Flash this season. If that works out well, then I can see WB tying into the films.

That being said, if WB is going to make a Flash film, they're going to want to cast a huge film star. Not some guy that was the #3 lead on 90210 or something.

Did anyone catch the name of the ship that Oliver was taken to?

Well I guess getting spoilered that Canary is Laurel's sister isn't too bad. Although, the actress they had in the first episode last season playing Sara Lance was I think she's better looking than this girl from Death Valley.

I think the Black Canary is Sarah Lance myself and I think she knows that Oliver Queen = Green Arrow.

In the promo for next week's episode, Oliver as Green Arrow asks the Canary who she is. Her response? "Once you know your life will never be the same."

That's who it says she is on IMDB. I also saw it on some online articles about the show when looking it up. I don't think that they are trying to hide it, that is why I didn't consider it a spoiler.

What's the significance of the name of the ship?

The name of the ship is Amazo, which means we'll probably see Prof. Ivo who is probably responsible for capturing Oliver. I guess it could mean that we might see Amazo itself, but I doubt that seeing that they are trying to keep the crazy superpower stuff to a minimum.

BTW, the name on the side of the van that the serial killer was driving was Metamorpho Chemicals.

Loving the show, but I know absolutely nothing about the comics. I'm an entirely different kind of nerd.

Really good episode. Looks like it going to pick up even more. Any insight on the League of Assassins? Is that Ra's A Ghul they are talking about? Is that Liam Neeson's character in Batman? Should we expect a Merlyn return? Damn, that's a lot of questions.

I recognized the actress tonight who plays Sara Lance/Black Canary. She played the niece of Anna Draper that lived in California on Mad Men. Not a raving beauty, but she does have some resonance and a unique quality about her. I like the character even more now.

Yeah, it's Ra's group of assassins, at least originally. Merlyn was connected with them as well both in comics and show, but somehow doubt we see a return unless they are bringing in the Lazarus pit somehow.

And yeah, really liking where this show is heading this season so far.
