Anyone going to watch The Magicians on SyFy

Syfy knows how I like my shows: two seasons long and unfinished.

I watched the pilot last month. It's good. Minor changes, but it keeps the tone. They are graduate students rather than college freshmen. Julia and Quinton's stories are told concurrently.

I really enjoyed the sneak preview last month

I've already seen the first episode, and I thought it was pretty good. I'm looking forward to the 2nd episode tonight.

BTW...I'm gonna pissed if they "Alphas" this series.

I didn't see the pilot, but did watch what I think was the first episode (1hr) last week.

It seemed completely disjointed to me. I felt like I was dropped in the middle of a story (which if fine), but then still didn't have any idea what it was about, or even what the world it's in is about.

I'll stick around for a few eps though.

Was there something else I needed to watch/see beforehand?

This is a far better show than some would think. These are not lovable characters, just mostly everyday people with powers way beyond their abilities to understand, which is why both sides are in magic schools.

I have enjoyed all 4 episode so far, with only the 4th being a little slow and the a plot whole that the head master should have know when it was found out one of the students was under attack. Still a very good episode.

Remember this is not Harry Potter.

Anyone watching? I'm all caught up. I'm a huge fan of the books, and I'm liking the series pretty well. It's not getting especially good reviews, unfortunately. There is a lot to juggle, and I'll be really curious to see how they handle the weirdness of the 3rd book if they ever get that far.

I am loving this show. I started reading the books a couple weeks ago and they are fantastic. I am about 1/3rd of the way through the third one right now.
