I read the books a few years ago.
REALLY enjoyed this movie. Very well done. I do not get the criticism. Very good movie.

I read the books and agree that the third was awful.
The only thing I want to come out of this series is a prequel book or movie that shows Haymitch's Hunger Games.

I found something so haunting about when Jennifer Lawrence sang hanging tree song and then one of the districts joined in like a song of rebellion

I do not think that the third book was awful. I think that it brought the hideous nature of the games and applied it to the larger context, which is where it should have gone.
The movie was very good, in my opinion.

Agreed. JLaw overacted in some scenes like everyone has said.
I thought the scene with Finnick's monogue in front of the camera was well done.

I enjoyed it.
I liked the singing part and the dam.
I didn't like Hoffmans character. I couldn't tell which parts were real Hoffman and dead actor Hoffman, but his character seemed different from the second one.

The dam scene was a 10/10 and I am a tough critic.
It showed they were capable of making an awesome battle scene. Just wish they had done a couple more of them.
