Not a debate on whether the second was good or not (it was for me, but nothing touches the first), though I guess we could talk about that, too.

For an avid Boondocks fan, I think we just want the third one to at least finish it out. Perhaps it'll never happen. Maybe it's too far gone. But I wish we'd at least get some final word on the matter so we could move on with our lives. In the meantime, I've read that the script was written (or in progress of), and it's just a matter of getting the boys on board (I wish the WD would just kill off Reedus so we could get our Boondocks fix haha).

So, again: any whispers in the works? Might it happen? Any timetable? Not at all?

When's the last time you watched it?

Few months ago, back in the Spring. Why? I occassionally go back to it like rereading a good book.

Gotcha.

I thought it was awesome in college but went back and watched it a couple months ago. Didn't hold up. Don't want to rain on your thread, though.

Ah, cool deal haha. I mean, with a little Irish and Catholic background, I clearly would hold more love for it naturally. And it's Quentin Terantino-esque, whom I like. But I gotcha, sometimes tastes change/hindsight comes into play. No worries!

The Walking Dead star Norman Reedus has confirmed that a third installment of Boondock Saints is "in the works" and that he will return to play Murphy McManus.

Yep, used to love that movie. Hadn't watched it in 4 years or so and watched it last week. It didn't hold up well at all.

I'm a 30 year old Irish male and watched it for the first time this weekend. I don't get the hype.

Never said I was Irish Catholic, born and from Ireland. I know the accents aren't really accurate, and actual people from Ireland don't walk around shooting "bad guys." The movie is just a great aesthetic.

And having the Irish and Catholic elements together in the movie, somewhat idolized in one go, is nice for someone who has lived for years in North Louisiana. It's all Baptist up there, so I swear they all acted like I (as a Catholic) were some reptilian alien the way they talk. They're good folks, but the Catholic bashing on social media up there is almost laughable. And anytime I mention any historical oppression of the Irish in Ireland or America, some people act like I'm advocating the re-implementation of Jim Crowe or full on slavery. Blech.

So, again: I know it's not real Irish or anything. It won't necessarily have an appeal to actual Irish. It's just pleasant fantasy for me with some good cinema.
