the part where the devil on the pledge's shoulder basically tells the kid to date rape what turns out to be a drunken passed out 13 year old has always been a bit uncomfortable for me to watch and I'm sure it only comes off worse to a modern audience.

Not sure people would care for Flounder dropping the N bomb the way he did at that club either.

Aside from those two things, I think it holds up very well.

You know "negroes" isn't the N bomb, right?

The N word isn't in Animal House.

Guys in college still think this on a nightly basis. They have almost for sure run into this drunken situation. The joke is funny because it's true (save the 13 year old part). I don't see how this joke is remotely dated.

Can't say I remember that scene. I don't think Flounder had a mean enough bone in his body to shout out the N-Word.

the 13 year old part is a good lesson in why that's the wrong choice, on top of it already being the wrong choice

and as for the "n-word", django was basically an excuse for QT to drop 500 n-bombs in public without fear of repercussion. i only hope the poster who made that comment hates him some django

i actually give talks to frats on occasion and i don't use animal house as an example but i try to teach that lesson

one time i met a girl at a bar (i knew she was a year or 2 younger than me so no worries) but she was there with her cousin. i was a complete idiot in those days and she escalated her intentions very quickly. within like 15 minutes she wanted to bounce. then she tells me she's there with her cousin.

i had to bring cousin home before i could get some alone time with the girl. when we do, both girls go inside. then i hear a fight going on. and then the girl comes back in my car and is like "just go" and BOOM. mom is outside right after and knocks on my window. i roll it down

"can you explain why you're bringing my SIXTEEN year old daughter home drunk?"

*ETA: and nothing ended up happening. that fight led to a bigger family fight and the girl my age just cried over and over

But Pinto doesn't rape Colette. He brings her home in a grocery basket. Later in the movie, when they're in the middle of the football field about to have sex, she tells him she's only 13.

Flounder calls the patrons of the Dexter Lake Club "negroes", which in the early '60s, was the proper/polite terminology.

Final note...
Mandy Pepperidge's post pillow fight nude scene is a thing of beauty. Those breasts will hold up forever!

What's crazy is the actor actually raped her!
