Just caught it on IFC. Seemed like it Would've been a great 90s movie but it was so over the top it just didn't work.

All of the Alex Cross movies suck. ACAS was the only one I could make it through.

I didn't mind the Morgan Freeman ones. Decent 90s mystery flicks.

I find this odd. I like both Freeman movies but this one departed far too much from the books to the point they kill off the main bad guy from one of the later books.
I like Kiss the Girls although the movie was toned way the hell down from the book.
Alex Cross was garbage. Could be my aversion to Tyler Perry or it could be my aversion to a horrible plot with horrible actors. All those damn books and they had to write a shitty new story.
Makes as much sense as all the awesome Clancy novels yet they had to write a shitty new Ryan script.
