I love some Peaky Blinders. The best series I've seen on Netflix.

A few very very minor criticisms.

1) How Tommy handled that last scene didn't make much sense. Giving everyone their money just to take it back seems pretty shitty. I get the shock factor for the show. But that's clearly not the best way of handling that. And why was Arthur's wife arrested? What were the charges against her? She wasn't involved with the train bombing or theft of jewels or any murders, etc. Because she had ties to the Blinders? They would have to arrest everyone in the organization. The same is true of Tommy's 'secretary.'

2) The whole old Gypsy woman thing seemed forced. Tommy, nor anybody in the family, had shown much belief in gypsy traditions/beliefs in 3 seasons. The arranged wedding with the little brother was purely for strategic purposes.

3) Where is the cavalry? Grace's uncle, who told Tommy she was like a daughter to him, clearly didn't approve of the Blinders and Tommy, and wore their uniforms to the wedding, which was a slap in the face of the Blinders. Now, Grace takes a bullet meant for Tommy and dies. If she meant that much to the uncle, why isn't he front and center trying to destroy the Blinders?

4) How crappy was this assassin called in from the motherland? Tommy isn't a hard man to get to. The best he could do was a desperate shot from 20 feet?

I'm looking forward to the next Tommy "plan." And I really like how Michael is developing into a "Tommy" himself. His coldness toward the pregnant girl was awesome. He's going to be trouble.

Fair point for number one. Didn't like how the played out that finale scene. Could have been better

The gypsy women didn't have that much of a part and didn't really impact the story or take anything away from it so I can forgive inconsistencies in Tommys character by going to her.

I thought the Unlce would show up eventually. Maybe the writer just didn't want the distraction, or another sub plot. Only 7 episodes. I'm sure some things had to be cut. The Shelbys had plenty of problems without adding a bunch of pissed British Calvery men into it.

Awful assassination attempt but Tommy isn't going to die. I like that they killed the wife. Gave Tommy a lot more freedom and kept the typical women character in crime shows pleading to go straight to Arthur's wife. Plus gave Tommy some great motivation to just frick shite up.

When did Arthur get married and go Christian on us? Did I totally miss that in season 2?

Regarding the gypsy stuff, I think it's been well established that Tommy definitely falls back on his Gypsy heritage at times of crisis (tha fricking Tinker!!).

Season 2 after he got beat to shite by Sabini, rather than seeing a doctor, he spent a few days on the boat to heal up on the way to Camden Town.

When he needs more men he always trust the other gypsy families more than anybody else (even rival gypsy families).

He might not full on embrace it (like when he went off on Johns wife for talking about "getting lost" in France) but he really doesn't hide from it that much.

No. That happened in between seasons 2 and 3. Give 9 months for Grace's pregnancy and the baby seems to be about, what, 1 1/2 years old. So there's 2+ years since episodes 2 and 3.

Speaking of which, they never went into Arthur and his wife's relationship after he got a handjob and sex from the Russians. He tells her everything right? And they made a big deal about it the next morning.

Maybe season 4 material?

1. Agree

2. Tommy was doing it to clear his conscious even though he doesn't believe in any of it.

3. Calvary is always late even for funerals

4. More important why wouldn't you be on the boat to America already

I think the last scene went down the way it did because Tommy didn't have any other options. If he tells his family that they are all going to be arrested and probably assaulted or tortured ahead of time then they're all gonna say F that and peace out. That would leave Tommy and all the Shelby's more vulnerable in the long run because Winston Churchill would see that as a rebellion against him.

The cops were waiting outside. They weren't going anywhere.

I meant prior to that particular moment. In other words, he couldn't give anyone a chance to try and avoid getting arrested and foiling his plan/orders.
