What indeed. Who are they saying is the lead in that film if not Hanks?

Also, no DeNiro for best actor in The Irishman?

The dude who plays the dude writing the article is listed as the lead. Though everyone knows Tom Hanks is a co-lead in that film.

Also, Netflix cleaned up.

The journalist is the leading role in that movie, not Mr. Rogers.

Damn Uncut Gems was snubbed.

That's a lot of nominations for Joker. Was just an ok movie with a great performance by Phoenix.

Seems like they are just giving Bombshell love because they would look bad if they did not. Was not a well received movie.

Its always easy to tell which newer movies are up for nomination based on the DVD screeners that show up on torrent sites

Not that I download anything illegally

I would’ve put Sandler up for best actor, but I wouldn’t have put Uncut Gems up for best picture. It was a good movie, it wasn’t great. I have seen or plan to see every movie up for best picture, and of the ones I’ve seen I liked it better than Uncut Gems

Matthew Rhys was the lead for sure. Hanks had maybe 20% of screen time. If you saw the movie that was obvious.

Gerwig got snubbed. Good.

She was on Sundance's Close Up/Hollywood Reporter forum with Todd Phillips and had her constipation face in full bloom while Phillips called the controversy over Joker a bunch of bullshite.

It was a bunch of media-driven BS. Fake news.

I haven’t seen all the best picture nominations yet, but I’m rooting for Parasite. I’ve seen Joker, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, and The Irishman, and Parasite was considerably better than all of them.

Trying to figure out which shitty, weird film the voting base will gravitate to this year to knock off the favorite.

I'm going to say Parasite. It checks boxes for them. No whitey and I think the director is a big social commentary lunatic.

The Irishman has no business winning. 1917 or Once Upon a Time in Hollywood should win, but neither I think will. Tarantino may get the screenplay Oscar again though.
