George Orwell prophesied that year to be special but for all the wrong reasons.

1984 was the apex antithesis of dystopian...everyone was alive, the culture had a palpable pulse...that was all-time positive probably not seen since the 50s after the war. Movies, music rocked...the year of Apple (our future overlord)...hmmm...

...maybe Orwell was right. He just was 30 years early.

Yep. I remember thinking that as far back as I can remember when you look at the movies and albums that came out.

Man these threads always make me sad.

There was a time when going to the theatre was awesome. Always something really good or at least really fun.

Now, it's mostly overpriced crap. If you don't like comic books or pretentious Oscar bait, there's no reason to go.
