LeBron James is the game biggest draw

The 2016 #NBAFinals  are the second-most watched in @ABCNetwork history through five games. #Game5 draws 20.5 mil viewers, peaks w/ 24 mil.

Maybe golden state is the reason since they come from the biggest state?

Wtf is this line of questioning even about? This is a thread about LeBron, GSW and how many people watched. Not about the Lakers who are from MN but now reside in CA (L.A)

Oh, I just liked how hailhailtomichigan was a smartass, so I just came in here to follow his lead and frick with you bawww.

Thread doesn't have much potential for anything else anyway

If I had a point it would be:

You said that the NBA finals ratings are historically high through game 5 because Golden State is in California. But the Lakers are also in California and have been in many NBA finals.

Additional information required for a better analysis:
How long have the NBA finals been on ABC?
How many of those NBA finals have lasted 5+ games?
Can we get a list of those games and ratings for each?
Is this solely a trends and viewership has been steadily increasing over the years if a trendline is fit to the data? (likely)
Are NBA finals with Lebron always higher? Have the NBA finals over the past 7 years been the 7 most viewed finals?
If there was an upward trend before the past 7 years, has the rate of increase increased or decreased? Can we get a logarithmic graph?

The Warriors are part of it as well, Steph's the most widely liked superstar in recent memory.

Golden State is in the SF Bay region. 6 million.

the whole nation is watching, but the TV numbers are highest in Ohio and California and Miami FL.

Miami is LeBron.
Ohio (Cleveland/Akron and Columbus) is LeBron
California is the W's. SF, Sacto, SJ, Oakland, Walnut Creek/Concord. There are more than a million on the peninsula not in any big city.

majority of them. only 2002 resulted in a sweep

the finals in the 2010s have gotten higher ratings than the finals from the 2000s, but they are still lower than the finals from the 90s. however, it usually is a wild card from year to year.

2007 is like the least watched NBA finals in over 40 years. however, all of lebrons other finals would compare pretty well with post 2002 finals ratings

we will probably have to wait until the total ratings for this years finals come oul
