In 2007 auburn honored the 1957 national championship team with this helmet worn that season
Does that mean in 2060 they will honor the 2010 national championship with these?

Yes, I could see why that would be confusing. CSU wears orange once a year recently to as a tribute to the distance past when orange was the feature color on "Ag Day." That's all the tradition that exists.

The last few years Cal used a helmet with a weird pointy stripe:
This year they got rid of the stripe but now for the first time it's a matte finish:
I won't know for sure until I see it in person if I like the new matte look or if I will still prefer the classic sparkly finish:

I am glad you posted in the thread. I have always said that Cal (especially the the classic, sparkly helmet) is one of my favorites in college football. It's legendary in my opinion.
